Knowledge Transfer (KT) on SQL Server

  • Hi,

I require help on preparing a Knowledge Transfer (KT) required for SQL Server 2005 Support Transition. That is... if I need to start supporting SQL Server 2005 as an Level 2 / Level 3 admin, what are the things that I need to know or understand from the old SQL Server 2005 Admin who is handing over his support to me. That is what points do I need to put in the checklist so that he can transtion the knowledge to me based on the check list.

Any help in this will be appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance.

  • I think the old admin has that list.

Did you check this with him?

  • The person doesn't have that list. I need to prepare and then ask.

  • I think you could start from Brad's Sure DBA checklist[/url].

That sounds the wrong way round to me!

    Agree with Gianluca's recommendation though.

  • Is this an outsource? If so KT should be your area of expertise.

Have you worked as SQL DBA earlier or it is the first time you are going to support databases?
