Hi folks,
I'm trying to install Katmai Developer Edition x86 on a Win 2003 SP2 server, and I get the following error. I tried to capture a screenshot, but it didn't work. I'll write a message here. Please help me to solve it
"Error 1706. Setup cannot find the required files. Check your connection to the network, or CD-ROM drive. For other potential solutions to this problem, see 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\1033\SETUP.CHM'".
Anyone else gets this still in 2019?

Are you working for a museum? 🙂 Pretty old software here, both SQL Server and Windows.
Since the message relates to Office, I guess it is not related to the Database Engine. What components are you installing? Which components do you need? Only install what you actually need. If you don't need Reporting Services (which I think is the prime suspect), don't install it.
Also, from where did you ge the install media? It could be corrupt.
