Issue with CPU Affinity Configuration on a SQL Server VM with 30 vCPUs

  • Hello ,

I'm having an issue with a SQL Server VM that has 30 vCPUs allocated. However, in the server affinity configuration, when I check the "Affinity Mask", it detects only 19 vCPUs.

Can someone explain to me why there is a difference between the number of vCPUs allocated to the VM and the number detected in the affinity configuration? Is this a configuration issue or is there a limitation of SQL Server or the VM itself

    Sans titre

    Thank you for your help

    Thanks

  • what does the SQL Logs say about licensing and allocated cores? Could be limited by license applied.

and what is the VM type - some config there may be wrong - but never seen sql not use the cpus except by license restrictions.
