I have a sql server 2005 instance, and i have jobs in it. The problem is when i connect to this server from a machine where i have installed sql server client only, i can't see the steps of the jobs of server machine.

Are the tools up to the same service pack level as the server? Are you sure you have appropriate rights?

Do we need to install service pack on client machine as well??
Yes, i have the sysadmin rights and i can see the job steps from other server machines. So it cant be the rights issue.

Yes, service packs often make changes to the tools as well.

Its a bug with maintenance plans and jobs on SQL 2005 post SP2...I believe there is a hotfix for it...I went on to install build 4028 which is CTP for SP3 but you can go for 4035 the fully tested SP3 which got rid of this bug..test SP3 to be safe on a test box..as I did
Thanks!!
