Is full-text catalog going to be deprecated or replaced?

  • Hello,

I'm confused about the future of the full-text catalog. Is it going to be deprecated or are just certain pieces of working with it going to be deprecated? I have a project where I think one would be useful, but I don't want to create one if it's going away in the future. From the wording, I can't tell exactly what the plan is. Does anybody know.

    Thanks,

    Chuck

  • All they changed is it doesn't have a file associated with it any more.

    I can wish....

So the catalogues will be stored internal to the database file then?

Have they come up with a more friendly way to generate a thesaurus file?

  • No. The catalogue is simply an object container now. The indexes are still stored in their own space (essentially).
