It came back with the same error. I wish it wasn't so generic. Maybe there's some problem at the linked server although it seems to work on other tables

My gut says it's something in the SQL syntax... I'd also check the values for the Options on the Linked Server, and be sure to set RPC and RPC Out to True.
EDIT: Also set Enable Promotion of Distributed Transactions for RPC to True.
