it is worth noting that in SQL 2016 R Services is not supported on Failover Clusters and I am trying to get clarity on if this works/is supported on Always-On clusters from Microsoft and here.
SQL 2019 introduces Machine learning services (R Services renamed with Python support) support on failover clusters.
