  Hello, i'm running a LOCAL copy of 2005 dev edition on my laptop using window auth. I can't connect from IS to save a SSIS package on the server in the MSDB folder. I get the error Failed to retrieve data for this request (microsoft.sqlserver.smoEnum) with additional info stating that the server may not allow remote connections.

  the db engine is enabled to allow local and remote conns, and both TCP/IP and named pipes throught the surface area config.

  I've checked all permissions for IS and the server and it all seems OK. I can connect using Analysis Services with out any conn issues.

  Any help would be appreciated......

  Problems solved. Had to change the config file to the servername\instancename as my local is a named instance
