Hi,
I am working in a development environment.
I have SQL Server 2005 Stadrd Edt installed on my local machine.
For learning purpose i want to install the SQL Server 2008 on the same machine but with different instance name. When i try to install SQL 2K8 it ask me for higher version of Windows installer (4.5).
Does it will affect if install it?
Suggestions appreciated.

I have few machines with SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2005 (some of them also have SQL Server 2000). Before installing SQL Server 2008 you need to install on your machine windows installer 4.5 and Microsoft .Net framework 3.5 sp 1. There might be other Prerequisites that I don’t remember, but the important thing is that you can install it all on the same machine.
