Installing on multiple servers

  • Has anyone yet tried installing on one SQL box and two IIS servers, or reinstalling on an IIS server?

We are in the position where we have an established report server and we are setting up a second IIS server to replace the first.

When SQLRS installs, it drops and recreates the databases.  We need to install SQLRS on a new IIS box connected to the live databases, and at a later date switch the original box off.

At a later date we will be building several other IIS servers connecting to the same database, and I can forsee installing SQLRS being a problem here as well.

We don't have a test bed we can currently use to try this out on, and we don't really want to lose the reports.

Has anyone had any experience of installing SQLRS and connecting to an existing set of SQLRS databases?

Any advice would be gateful before we go any further.
