An old problem revisited. I am unable to install SQL Server 2000 on a Windows XP-SP2 box. Portion of error log attached. This was a hot topic a couple of years ago but I haven't seen any clear answer on how to resolve the problem. Installation dies with the message "Setup failed to configure Server"
Can anyone help?

Forgive me as I don't have a sytem to test with here, but I think it was one of these three
1) either the windows firewall was blocking the install
2) file and priunt sharing had to be on
3) You could complete the install but not start the service until until SQL 2K SP3 patch was installed.
