Every time I am installing first visual studio 2005 and then install sql server 2005 Enterprise Edition but this time I install SQL Server 2005 first and then install Visual studio 2008 pro. So when I install SQL server 2005 it install only client so It was not showing Server name. After installation of VS 2008 it shows server name as default instance.

Are you trying to install Visual Studio on a Server?
If yes, it is not recommended. As it is a client software. It should be installed on a PC.

Did you use the correct install media for your SQL install? The SQL 2005 install media is split across 2 CDs - one for client components and one for server components. On a DVD there are separate high-level folders for the two component sets.
If you start the install from the client components CD/folder, you only ever get client components. If you start from the server CD/folder, you can install both the server and cilent components.
This problem does not exist for SQL 2008 and above.

You may be installing only the client version. You should install both Server & Client, during ionstallation it will ask you the Database engine related info, if this is not asking then you installing client only.
