I removed Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) from a Client PC because BIDS was hanging.
The removal went fine but during the reinstall the install prgram hung so I canceled it.
Now when I attempt to remove BIDS I get an error that an install is already in progress.
I have encountered this a long time ago.
How do I work around this issue?

Reinstalling SQL Server (and compenents apparently) can be tricky following an unistall.
Try this:
1) Remove all SQL components using the Setup program & Add/Remove Programs.
2) Delete the Microsoft SQL Server folder in Program Files & Program Files (x86) (if 64-bit)
3) Delete the Microsoft SQL Server key in the registry - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server
4) If there are keys for BIDS I'd remove those too.

I was able to uninstall and reinstall just the BIDS Component on the Developer PC. However I had to use my Account even thought the Developer was in the Administrators Group.
I still have the problem that when he logs in and Starts BIDS the devenv.exe Process Starts but the BIDS Application does not start.
When I login it starts.
I suspect that there is some BIDS related files that if they were deleted the application would not hang?
Thanks.

If I were to remove my profile then it should clear up the issue with BIDS.
I'm a member of the administrator Group via my membership in the Domain\DBAs Group.
I'm not sure how I should proceed?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
