Hi guys,
I tried to install SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition on machine with Windows 7 Ultimate.
Before installing SQL Server I installed Visual Studio 2008 and Service Pack 1 for Visual Studio 2008 as SQL Server 2008 needs. Components to install were Database Engine, Reporting Services, Client Communication Tools including SDK and Management Tools. All components exclude Management Tools installed correctly but Management Tools failed. Installation log wrote that I must uninstall SQL Native Client and after this rerun installation process again. As I know SQL Native Client depends on all SQL Server components, if I uninstall it nothing will not work.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Igor

Did you install SQL Server 2008 Express and Management Studio that came with VS2008?
It can cause that kind of trouble.
Run VS2008 maintenance and uninstall the Express edition and the management Studio that installs with it it.
I have W7 Ult (x64) with VS2008 TS (Database Edition) and SQL 2008 Enterprise (x64) and I'd no problem installing any of them (but I didn't install SQL Express that comes with VS)....

No, during VS2008 setup I unchecked SQL Server Express and didn't install it.
I knew that I'll install SQL Server 2008 after VS2008 setup therefore didn't choose it.
Thank you for reply.
