Hi all, I got a problem on installing the reporting services of SQL 2000 evaluation.
My problem is, when I install the reporting services, it asks me for Visual Studio .NET 2003 which I do not have installed, but instead the Visual Studio 2005 Pro. Can I install it without VS.NET 2003 or with VS2005? Thanks!

Yes you can install it without VS2003 but don't answer any question Windows ask you during the installation, only answer relevant questions. Hope this helps.

Hi Peddie, thank you very much with your help! I can install the RS without VS2003. Here I got another question that, is it possible or as efficient as VS2003 for VS2005 to develope reports for RS 2000? It seems that VS2003 should be developed with SQL2000, and that VS2005 with SQL2005. How about the combination of SQL2000 with VS2003?
As get from many documents, after insalling RS2000, there is a new project type for BI in VS2003. But my case is that I don't have SQL 2005 installed, therefore there is no BI project type in my VS2005. I am just new to developing web applications. I am really confused with the development tools. One point I should state here is that I have to install add-in for VS2005 in order to build the ASP.NET project. So may I know if there is any add-in to install for VS2005 to get the BI projects template? Can any one help! Thank you!

BI(business intelligence) is the calculus end of the relational model, I think you should learn about it before deploying it on the web. I am assuming you know you have to install Analysis Service to use it with reporting services and again remember to ignore Windows questions. I cannot cover it with one post but the two links below will keep you reading for a while and get you ready to start your application. Hope this helps.
