I'm currently an IT Technician, and have approached my manager for a move into a developer role at the company.
It has been suggested that I take a introduction to MS SQL course to help me jump start my training, there are a few developers on site but all to busy to go through the basics with me.
I've done a few online introductions and started following the stairways on SQLSC, these are great but I think doing a dedicated course with live data would be better for me.
Any ideas of courses?

depending on what you want to learn and what you already know the official MS courses for 2008 are
6231 - Which is more on the admin side
6232 - Which is more on the dev side
6234 - Which is for SSAS
6235 - Which is for SSIS
6236 - Which is for SSRS
If your new to T-SQL as well I would recommend 50027
