Here's the supported upgrade paths for SQL Server 2014:-

It doesn't look like you can upgrade SQL Server 2008 Enterprise to 2014 Standard. It would have to be to either 2014 Enterprise or Business Intelligence

you'll need to install a new instance, this is not a supported upgrade path

And, depending on what features you have in use in your 2008 database, you won't even be able to migrate your databases over.
