Is it possible to import dtsx package from SQL 2005 to SQL 2000?If yes, how?

try exporting the package from SQL 2005 using Management studio, and import the package into SQL 2008 using Management studio(2K8)

You want to move the DTS back to 2000 ? If you open the package in 2005, and choose "save as" and select the 2000 server, maybe that will work ? I did a quick test on my servers and "save as" to a 2000 server seemed to work.
I know there are migration tools to go from 2000 to 2005 (3rd party & native). Perhaps they would work the other direction too for single or multiple packages. I haven't tried going backwards, so there may be compatibility issues that prevent this.

You cannot transfer a SSIS package from SQL 2005 or above to SQL 2000 DTS. SSIS and DTS are two separate products.
You can install SSIS on a SQL Server 2000 box and run SSIS against SQL Server 2000.
