Import/Export SSMS Settings issue

  • I have tried a number of times to export and then import my SSMS settings as I migrate local computers or sign into new servers. But for some reason, my toolbar customization and my keyboard settings (or other Tools -> Options) settings never pass through. I always seem to get errors like this:

Your settings were exported, but there were some errors.

Error 1: Failed to export settings for '#20116'

Error 2: Failed to export settings for '#100'

Error 3: Failed to export settings for '#1010'

Error 4: Failed to export settings for '#1001'

Error 5: Failed to export settings for 'Start Page'

Error 6: Failed to export settings for '#20133'

Error 7: Failed to export settings for '1050'

Error 8: Failed to export settings for '#3600'

Error 9: Failed to export settings for '2015'

Error 10: Failed to export settings for '2001'

Error 11: Failed to export settings for '2011'

Error 12: Failed to export settings for '2012'

Error 13: Failed to export settings for '2013'

I cannot for the life of my figure out how to resolve this or what is going on. Any thoughts?

  • Best is to file a bug for SSMS ( Help > Send Feedback > Report a Problem. )
