With some of the developers I've worked with, that's a very rational fear.

  • Brandie,

I'm going to have to side with Gila Monster on this one - THERE"S NOTHING IRRATIONAL about your fears in that case...

  • Hmmm. An unlikely threat that would end civilization....

The definition of "chocolate" is legally defined and regulated in every country in the world to allow for replacing Cocoa butter in all chocolate treats with hydrogenated vegtable oil. Chocolate addicts promptly go insane which places a burden on health care systems all over the planet, the downfall of the candy industry heralds an economic crisis of unprecidented severity and leads to a nuclear war which kills us all (some poor cocoa butter deprived soul presses "the button" in a fit of delusional meglomania).

All because some candy manufacturers wanted to save a little money...

@sigh. It was nice knowing y'all.

at the end of the day its just yet another contender (albeit not a very strong one) to cause the end of the world ..

there should be a top five list of the current most likely/unlikely threats to civilisation as know it

    http://www.exitmundi.nl/

Not exactly a "top 5 list". More like a "top 1,000 list" or some such.

    - Gus "GSquared", RSVP, OODA, MAP, NMVP, FAQ, SAT, SQL, DNA, RNA, UOI, IOU, AM, PM, AD, BC, BCE, USA, UN, CF, ROFL, LOL, ETC

They have a suggestions link at the bottom of the home page.

My wife's was, "destroy all caffein and nicotine in the world...on a Monday". Wouldn't end the world, but might very well end civilization as we know it.
