IDENTIFIER_CASE SENSITIVE

  • I inherited 2 servers with the IDENTIFIER_CASE set to SENSITIVE and I was wondering if anyone has figured out how to change this without having to reinstall SQL on the Server.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  • In 2000 there are a number of collation type options that can be reset per db. In 7.0, I do not think this is an option. Sorry, I do not have any 7.0 servers here to check. My guess is that you need to reinstall. The best way would be to detach all databases and then reinstall. Check also rebuilding master with a new setting in yor 7.0 Books Online. Once you are reset, you can reattach your dbs.
