We have various "reports" that are essentially data dumps into Excel using MS Query to retrieve data from our sql servers. Sometimes the query is just an exec of a stored proc. From time to time we lack documentation as to what SQL or stored proc is executed for a given Excel file. At the moment, any time we need to examine the query in MS Query, we right-click on the spreadsheet, select "Edit query..." and then the damn query executes -- which is a waste of time.
Does anyone know of a way to halt MS Query from executing the query so that we can simply examine the underyling query itself?
Thanks,
Pete
