Hi,
Is it necessary to have a server to connect and create new database in SQL Server. I have Windows XP and install sql client on my computer (sql server cannot be installed).
So I tried to register a new server and connect, but the connection failed (so I cannot create new database). Does a software (like Web personal server) exist to allow connection and creation of database ?
Ronan
NB : Does SQL Server can be installed on Windows XP Professional.

Yes you must have a SQL server instance running to connect to to be able to create a DB. And yes it will work under XP.
