I am trying to install BIDS so that I can edit SSIS packages and whenever i try to install, it says it cant because i have to remove Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Tools first. problems is that Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Tools is not listed in add/remove programs anywhere. I am runnign Windows 7 SP1. How can i uninstall Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Tools so that I can install BIDS??

Safe way to go is to wipe out everything.
Another way would be to re-run the setup to see if you can't delete stuff that way.
Last resort this in this sequence (likeliest to less likely).
Try reinstall after each step
Microsft Visual Studio *
MS SQL Server Native Client
Management objects (not too sure here)
Everything else MSSQL

I have actually already uninstalled everything SQL server or visual studio related. Thats why i am kind of stumped on how to get rid of it.

Any compact or express edition maybe that you might have missed out on?
Any processes still opened that will be whacked by a reboot?
My last, last, last resort would be to manually delete the progam files / ms sql server folder.
Then do the same with regedit.
As I said LAST resort :w00t:.
Have you tried using the install file to remove any trace your might have left?
