How to make Print to Grid Default on opening new Query

  Hello,

  I am using SQL Server Management Studio. When I open up a Query from Management Studio, Out to Text is my default. I have tried Tools - Options - Query Results - Results to Grid but when I open up a query window, Results to Text is still the default. I can do Ctrl + D to get the results to a Grid but I would like the Grid output to be default.

  Any pointers are appreciated.

  You want the General option, not the Results to Grid one.

  Tools > Options > Query Results > Sql Server > General > drop down "Default destination for results" > button OK.
