How to install SQL Server 2005 (32-bit) on Windows Server 2008 (64-bit)

  • I am trying to install SQL Server 2005 (32-bit) on Windows Server 2008 (64-bit) with IIS 7. However, I get the following warning on the System Configuration Check page:

    - ASP.Net Version Registration Requirement (Warning)

    Messages

    ASP.Net Version Registration Requirement

Failed to find the ASP.Net Version Registration with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).

I have read a number of posts, MSDN articles, and Microsoft KB articles and done the following:

    1. Reporting Services (64-bit) is not installed.

    2. Microosft .NET Framework 2.0 (64-bit) is already installed as part of Windows Server 2008.

    3. Enable 32-Bit Applications is set to True on the Application Pools.

However, the problem persists. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    3. Enable 32-Bit Applications is set to True on the Application Pools.

Sorry, I just noticed I enabled 32-bit applications on the DefaultAppPool rather than on the Application Pool Defaults. The problem appears to be resolved. Thanks anyway.
