Hello everyone,
I am tring to send someone helping me with my database the data that is already in the database. I sent them the back up but they are telling me that there is no data, just the schema.
What is the correct way to package the data and send it to someone to work with it?
Thanks alot,
Erik.

You've done it right. I do this often - the backup should be fine (it's also worth zipping the backup before you send it - you'll see the file size shrink considerably).
Are you sure you picked the right file up?

Let me try zipping it up.

zipping it will only condense the file...not bring in the "missing data" !!!

Redo the backup and resend maybe???
Then go do the restore for him if it still doesn't work

Thanks for the help!
I will not hear back from my help again untill tonight, but i am not sure why he did not receive the data...
I did go ahead and send the database as an Access database also. This project that i am working on is just to big, i had to take on partnership with it and i am hoping that i am doing the right thing by doing this partnership thing. That is why i was a little worried when ya'll told me that the data should of been fine with the backup that i sent...

Erik - you could also test the same backup before sending - restore over a "dummy" database on your server - give it a "dekko" and make sure that all the objects and data are in place....Phil's suggestion of zipping it was only to "shrink the file" - not a substitute for redoing the backup!!!

Thanks!
I hate to ask a dumb question, but what is dekko?

remember that no question is dumb...dekko is giving something a "once-over" - "take a look at it" - etc. etc...
