How to delete or shrink a transaction log file.

  • Thanks for that.  An option I hadn't considered

A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.

  • I didn't mean to imply that the goal is to hunt down and kill the offending process - my assumption would be that the process that is causing the log growth is probably necessary, though not necessarily efficient, it's much more important to understand the cause and potential effect (plan ahead rather than react) - before it bites you in the butt.

  • Joe,

It's cool. I got the gist of what you were saying

I am quite open to ideas and constructive criticism. That is why I got on my soapbox (again) about the 'precious' types out there who feign insult when someone says something where they *might* be able to draw offense - and then do so as a way of being the centre of attention, I suppose. I never understood the mindset of people who think it's the way of society for them to feel perfectly comfortable at all hours of every day at the expense of everyone who has the misfortune of having to deal with them.

Please speak your mind at all times
