How to change Working Directory

  How can I change the working directory only for SQL Server? Executing DTS packages uses OS environment's temp variable but that's generic and I don't wish to change the temp variable for other apps. My small system drive is nearly full and I'd like the ability to temporarily use other drives including network drives for large GB tasks.
