Hello,
I test a log backup by writing
"backup log pubs to testlog" after writing a new device
it has been running for about 1h30 and still running
Did i do something wrong or it should take more time?

It shouldn't take that long. Run sp_who2 active to see are there any blocking and whether this backup process is runnable status. And you may try "backup log pubs to disk = 'c:\temp\pubs_log.trn'.

If you are running a TL backup to tape it could the throughput of the tape drive is the issue. There is a performance counter in performance monitor that can show you the throughput.

Did you do a FULL BACKUP first? How big is your LOG file?
