OK, I know this is a stupid newbie question. I am a newbie at Data Mining and I don't even really know what search terms to use to try to answer this question.
I've made a nifty little market basket analysis and now I'd like to share the results with the end-user. What's the best way to do that? Any pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Cindy

Reporting Services has a number of ways to publish data. Is that what you're looking for?

Maybe it is. I didn't know you could use Reporting Services to report from a Data Mining model. I'll look into that. Thanks.
Any other suggestions?

Unfortunately that didn't help. I can't find any information on how to use Data Mining Models with SSRS. Everything is about using OLAP cubes with SSRS, not data mining. I have the book "Professional Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services" and that only talks about OLAP cubes in its SSAS section. I looked at the tutorials in Books Online for both SSRS and SSAS and can't find anything relevant. I downloaded and installed the Excel 2007 Data Mining Add-In, thinking from the descriptions that it would allow a user to use Data Mining data in Excel, but it seems to only DO data mining from Excel data, which isn't helpful.
I'm getting kind of frustrated here. 🙁 Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

The information given to you was correct only implementation is not easy per the SQL Server Data Mining product owners in SQL Server. Check the link below for all you need about SQL Server Data Mining so your book is wrong some of the reasons to start with the BOL first.

Actually, the Sql Server 2008 DM Add-ins for Office 2007 solve this problem. The documentation is not great, but from messing around I've figured out that you can browse your data model results (it's the same as the Data Mining Model viewer you see from within BIDS) and then copy the results into the Excel spreadsheet. Quite pretty, quite simple, and exactly what I needed.

The link I gave to you includes what you choose to use and a two part tutorial to use Reporting Services. On a side note I passed the second BI in April 2008.
Kind regards,
