How do I install SQL server 2005 enterprise on Windows 7

  • Its giving me a lot of trouble , especially warnings in the form of IIS requirements, etc to install sql server 2005 on windows 7.

What would be a work around?

  • What all are you trying to install?

Express Edition? Dev Edition? SSRS? SSAS?

There shouldn't be a problem installing the database engine and Management Studio. Are you installing more than that?

  • Why are you installing Enterprise edition on a client OS?

Yep, I missed that in the question title. Can't do that.

It'll work (usually), but very few good reasons.

If that's a server is should have a server OS, if it's a desktop then it should have developer edition, not enterprise (unless it's from an MSDN subscription, the enterprise edition would still have to be licensed at full price)
