Hi problem with http://localhost/report

  • Hi there,

I am new to reporting services and hope you pro's here would help.

I tried creating a report and then while deploying it gave an error message

    TITLE: Microsoft Report Designer

    ------------------------------

A connection could not be made to the report server http://localhost/ReportServer.

    ------------------------------

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version. (Microsoft.ReportingServices.Designer)

    ------------------------------

The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found. (Microsoft.ReportingServices.Designer)

I do have IIS 5.1 installed and running also ASP.NET is running.

I can access http://localhost/localstart.asp and it gives introduction page to web service and also opens IIS help

Your Web service is now running.

You do not currently have a default Web page established for your users. Any users attempting to connect to your Web site from another machine are currently receiving an Under Construction page. Your Web server lists the following files as possible default Web pages: default.aspx,default.htm,default.asp,index.htm,iisstart.asp. Currently, only iisstart.asp exists.

To add documents to your default Web site, save files in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\.

    I need to access http://localhost/report

What is wrong ??? any suggestions

The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version.
