That's your first error. Sql dbs are live and can't be copied into any image software I know (except expansive san ones).
If you had screwed up the db could have been gone for good.
At the very least take a native backup in sql server and play with a copy of the db... no harm if you screw it up there.

He is my best friend, he just wish me try it for him.

If I turn off the computer and do the disk image, how about the database, is it ok?
I will use acronis, how about san ones?

Even if Because of he's your best friend you should not jeopardize his business software. Friendship is a personal relationship. Changing software his business might rely on is purely a business issue where a related skill set should come into play, not friendship.
Ask him a very simple question: Will he still be your best friend if the steps you try might lead to a totally unusable software together with a complete loss of data? If the answer is "yes", then you could give it a try. Otherwise, don't put that friendship at risk. Nor his business.
