Greetings,
I am really surprised there is not much related to Disaster Recovery at least not in anything searchable. We currently use HDS's HSC for doing geo clustering between two datacentre's. This is using synchronous True Copy. It works very well but recently, Microsoft seems to have lost interest in this approach (or at least in supporting it) in favour of doing log shipping. I am interested in what other people are using for doing disaster recovery especially almost real time solutions. Too many people supposedly complain (I am still actually waiting for an end user to do this) that using synch True Copy causes an unwanted latency. I see four milliseconds with end to end of about 13 milliseconds for a write. Windows perfmon sees much more than that which I put down to it being oddly sick or there are some queue depth issues on the host. So, has anyone come up with a decent approach for doing DR across datacentres that does not use synch True Copy but offers an extremely good solution.
Stephen
