Just wondering how are you people working with FTS Rank and Proximity in production environment?
It seems to me that you actually can not rely on RANK value every time you inserted/updated records in your table. BOL states that “after any population that results in large number of rows being indexed or re-indexed” one should use “ALTER FULLTEXT CATALOG ... REORGANIZE” to get correct RANK value.
But IMO it’s not the case- every time during the test I updated/inserted only 1 record (in total table comprises 10-12 records) query with CONTAINSTABLE returns wrong RANK value till I reissue

Certainly you can not do this (I mean altering FTS catalog) every Insert/Update in production environment with millions records in table?!
Either I am getting something wrong or ..?
