Hello,
My question revolves around full text enabling on sql 2000.
I have a script that rebuilds a full text catalog on a database when I restore it. And if I use that package, I can start a full population of the index. However, the actual option of full text indexing is grayed out on the toolbar as well as in my right-click menu off the table that actually has the full text index on it.
I was under the impression that if it wasn't enabled (not grayed out on toolbar or menu) that it wouldn't work at all...why can I populate through the package? Or is it that there specific permissions needed to use from toolbar?
Any insight appreciated.
Thanks
M

No I think you have run into Microsoft Search service not installed in your SQL Server instance because in 2000 it was a separate install. You may need to rerun setup and choose repair then choose Microsoft search service as one of the components. Hope this helps.
