So in other words WAY more than you should ever get close to. I can't even imagine a system where that limit is even close to being reached. YIKES!!!!

My guess is 1. There is likely some large customer that wanted either their really poor OLTP system to handle 200+ keys, or there's a DW that needs this and MS gave them a large limit.

I confess, I had to look this up. 253 is just the Outgoing Keys, the incoming keys have a limit of 10,000! That's a really important table to be referenced by 10,000 other tables. While I've seen incoming in the 200 range, max outgoing was maybe a dozen.
