yes
on the publisher you run a query and you get an index scan
same query on a subscriber and you get an index seek. the publication had been recently reinitialized which means all the indexes are freshly built
on the publisher no amount of alter index or update stats fixed it. ended up dropping and recreating the index

It's absolutely understandable what Grant Fritchey wrote.
Why are you writing about publisher and subscriber, you mean how it works with replication?
