  • Error :
    Date  8/8/2017 12:39:47 PM .....Source  spid62Message
    Failed to create AppDomain "mssqlsystemresource.dbo[runtime].3".
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.
    Findings :
Last .Net framework update : 08/05/2017
    Last instance reboot : 6/6/2017
    Questions :
Can I confirm that SQL services instance restart will fix the issue ?
What is the urgency and what if the fix is not done soon ?

  • any expert comments ?

  • I would normally associate APPDOMAIN errors with memory problems.

  • I have seen this problem a few times, and it has always been related to Windows Updates of the .Net framework leaving the server pending a reboot.

When you say SQL Instance restart, if you genuinely mean just restarting the SQL service, then that never fixed it for me.
A full server restart did fix the problem, though.

  • What is SQL mem capped to?
What is the total memory on the server?
    What version of SQL?
  • this is usually components being unloaded due to memory pressure
mem on the server and the max server mem would be a good place to start
