Failed jobs with SP2

  • Hello.  We've recently installed SP2 on some of our servers.  When we configure a backup job, the job fails with the following error:

The job failed. The owner (SHOESD01\ev66331) of job Backup User DBs.Subplan_1 does not have server access.

The thing is, the owner is a member of the AD group that is a sysadmin on the box.  If we change the job owner to sa, it works fine.  But this user should be a sysadmin by virture of his NT group being in the sysadmin server role.  This appears only with service pack 2.

Has anyone else experienced this?  Any idea why this would happen with the new service pack?

    Thanks!

    Jason

  • I don't know if this is the cause but SP2 prior to March 7 requires a patch due to issues in the Maintenance Plans. I think the patch was rolled into the SP so if you download it now, the patch is included.
