Extracting Linked Server details from Data Sources of SSRS Paginated Reports

    hi Friends,

    Here is the example Scenario:

    An SSRS Paginated Report has 2 data sources.

    Data Source 1 (Shared Data source which is Sql Server based)

    Data Source 2 (Expression based custom data source)

    The expression used in the Data Source 2 may also refer to some linked server.

    Requirement:

    Extract the data sources details like the connection string, Username (that is used in the connection string), any linked servers involved details

    Can anyone please help or provide a query which extracts these details from the Sql Server Audit tables ?

    If you are hoping to get this information by querying the ReportServer database, I think you are going to be disappointed. The connection string information is encrypted, with no supported method of decryption available, as far as I know.

    If you haven't even tried to resolve your issue, please don't expect the hard-working volunteers here to waste their time providing links to answers which you could easily have found yourself.
