Agree with you Joseph - same has happened to me several times, on the longer, more time-consuming posts of course. There must be a way round this that doesn't just discard what you've typed in.

I've had the problem too. I workaround it by selecting my answer and copy-to-clipboard before hitting submit. That way if something goes wrong, I can refresh the original post and start the reply again. Just past in the answer and submit. Annoying tho.

I've gotten to the point of typing my questions in notepad and then submitting them.

Yes: Notepad (or in my case, Textpad) are the way to go. You can think and type at your own rate.
