Hello,
I am developing a new utility 'Excel to Database' providing easy batch data upload/insert from Excel to any database Table or Stored procedure.
I could do with some help testing as development progresses, as I don't have access to many real life databases.
The tool allows you enter/paste data into Excel and upload to a Stored Procedure or direct to a table.
Also I have not tested with MySQL, Progress, DB2 etc and it would be great if anyone could help with these.
Software is not yet complete - but connection/object interogation should be working ok.
There is an accompanying file 'SQL-Flavours.XL-DB.xml' that contains information relating to each database type.
I have created a beta download 🙂 ..

Ok! one massive code burn later :
There is now a new enhanced version of Excel to Database now available in the downloads section...
http://leansoftware.net/Forum/default.aspx?g=topics&f=4
This new version :
1/ captures any error and gives you the option to email the details direct.
2/ auto generates SQL Insert statements when selecting table method.
The auto generation of stored procedure command is next on the list..
Looking forward to hearing of any test results / or suggestions ..:-)
