Error "Invalid Connection. ConnectionOpen (Invalid Instance())

    I had a SQL server suddenly stop working last night & can't get it going again. The service is running & will stop & start just fine but none of the apps (eg Sharepoint) can access their database & I can't use EM to access it.

    When I use EM from the SQL server I get the error message "Invalid Connection. ConnectionOpen (Invalid Instance())". I have deleted & recreated the SQL Registration in EM to no avail. It is using Windows Authentication & I am logged into the server as an Administrator.

    Any assistance would be appreciated as I'm currently at a loss as to what I should do next.

    Have you tried a full reboot of the server?

    Has anything been installed on the server recently?

    A reboot ended up fixing it. Thanks for the reply.
