I am trying to test the Mirroring concept in my laptop.
I installed 2 different instances on my laptop.
On Primary instance (Inst1) I created a database(Test).
Backed up the database and recovered on the mirrored instance(Inst2) in NO RECOVERY mode.
I enabled the TCP/IP and Named instance connection for both the instance and also restarted the instances with TRACE FLAG 1400.
Now i configured the INST1 instance to mirror the database to mirrored instance INST2.
The Primary is configured to communicate through port 5022 and mirror through 5023.
I am using the Windows account for the mirroring service which has got the Admin rights on the box and the server too.
When i tried starting the mirroring it gives me the below error message.
Error: 1418 - Microsoft SQL Server - The server network address can not be reached or does not exist. Check the network address name and reissue the command. The server network endpoint did not respond because the specified server network address cannot be reached or does not exist
I tried googling it but did not find any fix for it.
Please let me know what am i doing wrong.
