Enterprise Manager

    Hi,

Please if you may, provide me with information on how i can set up EM. I have already SQL Server 2000 running but I do not seem to be able to start EM.

Another problem that I faced is that the databases that I created can only be accessed by me and not any other user (using MS Access). How would I go about solvin this issue.

Am trying to create an applicatio in VC++ which will be accessing information stored on this database.

    Thanks in advance.

    Humphrey.

  • 1. Post here the error message when starting EM.

    2. Database that you created probably has you as an owner. Give other people permissions to access this database. Also, when connecting from MS ACCESS in the DSN source check "Change Default Database to" and select your database.

  • Thanks for your reply. Maybe I should rephrase my question: How do I start EM or maybe how do I install it?

This is because I dont think it is installed and from my shallow knowledge about SQL Server, i meant to understand that it ships in with SQL Server.

I think i need help on the basics of setting up this database because soon or later am going to need the other services definitely!

    Thanks a lot.

    Humphrey.

  • Hi,

When you install SQL Server there should be an option to install Client Tools. This will install the Enterprise Manager
