encrypt backup

    Maybe I was dreaming but I thought sql 2008 supported native backups with encryption, however it looks like I am wrong, is that correct (this is for standard edition)

    The only way to encrypt backups natively is to encrypt the entire database with TDE (transparent database encryption). That is an Enterprise only feature.
