Enabling Common Criteria on SQL 2005 (SP3) x64

  • Does anyone know if it is possble to enable Common Criteria on SQL 2005 (SP3) x64?

So far I have only found the required scripts for the following:

SQL Server 2005 SP1 Enterprise Edition (32 bit)

    Certified at assurance level EAL1

SQL Server 2005 SP2 Enterprise Edition (32 bit)

    Certified at assurance level EAL4+

Certified to comply with US NSA DBMS Protection Profile V1.1

SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition (32 bit & 64 bit)

    Certified at assurance level EAL1+

I am trying to find a way to keep tract of and query Login last date/time.

Which I believe it should be recording without all of this additional setup.

    Thanks for your help.

  • This question has been up awhile, but I also need an answer to this question.

  • You need to installl SP2 first as cc compliance requires SP2 and isn't sufficiently intelligent to identify SP3 as its sucessro. After you've enable cc compliance you can install SP3.

  • Does that mean if you are already on SP3 then you are out of luck?

    Thanks

  • You can uninstall SP3 from Control Panel-Add or remove programs, showing updates. Then you should be able to install the cc compliance can be enabled and configured. This is a very good site http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver/en/us/common-criteria.aspx and the doc, if you haven't already seen it - MS_SQL_AGD_IGS_1.5.pdf.
