  Hello all.

  I'm evaluating MS Reporting Services on its ability to deliver reports via emails. In Report Manger any email subscription fails with error:

  Failure sending mail: The Report Server has encountered a configuration error; more details in the log files

  Even if there seem to be no error reported in system or application logs.

  Any help? I've investigated settings in the RSReportServer.Config file and don't make sense of the parameters authenticating on the SMTP server. I plan to use an external SMTP server.

  This is the subject of MS Knowledge Base article 842538; it is fixed in the latest version of Reporting Services.
